Micro K’NEX includes a range of smaller functional parts used to connect, position, lock and guide other components. This page brings together Micro K’NEX clips, spacers, caps, locks and the small chain system.

Rods and connectors are covered separately on Micro K’NEX Rods and Micro K’NEX Connectors. Parts designed primarily to connect Micro and Classic K’NEX are covered under K’NEX Adapters, Transition & Dual-System Parts.

Colors listed here include both familiar Micro K’NEX colors and additional variants found in later sets and series. Architecture, Vertical Vengeance, Mario and other product lines are series or set contexts, not separate K’NEX systems.

2-Way Elbow Clip

Part numberColor
509001White

The 2-way Elbow Clip provides an angled Micro K’NEX connection. It is a clip rather than one of the standard flat or 3D Micro connectors.

A White Corner/Angle part is also known from Titanfall. It has not yet been established with sufficient certainty that this is the same part as 509001, so the two are not treated as identical here.

Interlocking Clips

Part numberColor
509002Blue
509003Brown / Bronze
509004Red

The Interlocking Clip can connect with another compatible clip to form a small articulated or linked connection.

Part number 509003 has been documented as Bronze in Architecture parts information and as Brown for Vertical Vengeance. Both descriptions are retained because the available information does not establish that these are necessarily the same color or production variant.

Clips with Hole End

Part numberColor
509010Gray
509012Green
509013Red
509013VGray
509014Tan
509015Bronze

The Clip with Hole End is included here as a clip, but it is also useful as a small connection or guide point. For this reason these parts may also be encountered in connector-related references.

The V suffix of 509013V is retained as documented. Its official meaning has not yet been verified.

Clips with Rod End

Part numberColor
509141Black
509142Tan
509143White
509147Gray

The Clip with Rod End provides a short Micro rod connection as part of the clip itself. Different colors occur across early, regular and later Micro K’NEX sets.

3-Wide Spacers

Part numberColor
512242Metallic Blue
512242SSilver
512245Tan

4-Wide Spacers

Part numberColor
530400Blue
530402White
530403Bronze

6-Wide Spacer

Part numberColor
530600Translucent White

Micro spacers position parts along rods and axles. Unlike the familiar small Classic K’NEX spacers, Micro K’NEX includes spacers of different widths. Color alone should therefore not be used to identify the spacer size.

Architecture introduced several additional documented colors, including Tan, White and Bronze. Vertical Vengeance also contains distinctive early spacer variants.

Snap Cap

Part numberColor
516400Black

The Micro Snap Cap is a small retaining part used to keep components in position. It should not be confused with larger Classic K’NEX snap caps that may also appear in sets containing Micro parts.

Rod Lock

Part numberColor
516600Metallic Blue

The Micro Rod Lock is a separate part from the X-Rod Lock below.

X-Rod Lock

Part numberColor
530500Orange

The X-Rod Lock is associated with the Micro X-Rod connection and is found in the early Micro parts range used by Vertical Vengeance.

Gear Lock

Part numberColor
530501Tan

The Gear Lock helps retain a gear in its intended position. It is included here with the other small Micro locking parts; the gears themselves are covered in K’NEX Gears & Chain.

Micro Chain

Part numberPartColor / size
509870Small Chain Link20 mm
850200Chain GuideBlack
517900Sprocket GearBlack

Micro K’NEX uses a smaller chain than Classic K’NEX. The 509870 20 mm chain links work with the Micro sprocket gear, while the 850200 Chain Guide helps control the path of the chain.

These parts are particularly common in motorized Micro K’NEX models and roller coasters. They are grouped together here because they form a functional system. The sprocket gear and chain may also be referenced under K’NEX Gears & Chain.

Vertical Vengeance uses this small chain system, including 509870 chain links and 850200 chain guides.

Ball with Micro Hole

Part numberColorNotes
841KNMYellowUsed in Mario / Mario Kart sets

The Ball with Micro Hole is an example of a special Micro-compatible part associated with a particular theme. Its Mario context does not make it a separate K’NEX system: physically, the Micro-sized hole is the relevant connection feature.

Architecture Variants

K’NEX Architecture is a series, not a separate system. Architecture sets are nevertheless particularly useful for identifying additional Micro K’NEX colors.

Documented examples on this page include Bronze, White, Tan and Gray clips and spacers. These variants are therefore included in the main tables rather than being separated into an Architecture parts family.

The Architecture sets used during the wider Micro K’NEX research include the London Eye, Eiffel Tower, Golden Gate Bridge and Empire State Building.

Early Micro Parts and Vertical Vengeance

Several parts on this page also occur in Vertical Vengeance Coaster 50080 / 22808, which uses an early generation of Micro K’NEX.

These include early clips, spacers and locks as well as the small chain system. Some part numbers or colors differ from later Micro K’NEX parts.

Because Vertical Vengeance also uses an unusual early rod-size range, K’NEXCHANGE documents the complete set separately under Series. See the Vertical Vengeance Coaster page for its complete parts list and historical context.

Titanfall

Titanfall sets have also been checked for Micro-compatible parts. Theme or series membership alone is not used to classify a component: a part is classified according to its physical function and connection type.

A White Corner/Angle part from Titanfall is documented separately with the Micro connectors. Its official individual part number has not yet been verified, and it is not assumed to be part 509001 without further evidence.
