K’NEX Titanfall is a licensed K’NEX building range based on the Titanfall video game by Respawn Entertainment.
The range was introduced in 2014 and combines K’NEX construction with the characters, Titans, weapons and urban environments of the game. Sets range from small Pilot battle scenes to large Angel City environments with buildable Titans.
The original range was designed for builders ages 8+ and consisted of six principal building sets released at different sizes and price points. Contemporary reporting confirms that all six were planned for Fall 2014.
About the information on this page
K’NEX Titanfall sets were announced, promoted and released through several publications and product versions during 2014. As a result, some early promotional information differs from later packaging, building instructions and parts inventories.
Piece counts and dimensions were also sometimes given as rounded figures, such as 160+, 1,200+ or 1,400+ pieces.
Where possible, this catalogue gives preference to information from the released set, original packaging and original building instructions. When original or contemporary publications give different specifications, the difference is retained rather than silently choosing one value. Information that has not yet been checked against original packaging or instructions may be marked not yet verified.
This is particularly relevant to the Ultimate Angel City Campaign 69500, for which different published specifications are known.
Background & Release
The K’NEX range was created to bring locations, characters and machines from the digital world of Titanfall into physical construction play.
The timing was unusual: Titanfall itself was released in March 2014, and the K’NEX range was already being promoted around the game’s launch period. The six building sets were subsequently released during 2014.
The range concentrates particularly on Angel City, one of the recognisable urban environments from the game. Pilots can be positioned running along walls and jumping between structures, while larger sets add Titans, working weapons and stationary turrets.

Pilot Battle Sets
The two smallest sets provide an entry point into the Titanfall range.
69497 Militia Pilot Attack represents the Militia faction, while 69498 IMC Pilot Strike represents the IMC.
Each contains more than 80 pieces and combines a small buildable battle environment with a Pilot and Spectre.
Together they introduce the two opposing factions without requiring one of the much larger Titan or Angel City sets.
Buildable Titans
Two medium-sized sets are centred around the machines that give Titanfall its name.
69503 IMC Atlas Titan builds an Atlas associated with the IMC faction.
69504 Militia Ogre Titan builds the heavier Ogre associated with the Militia.
Each was marketed with more than 160 pieces, a Pilot figure and working weapon features.
There is a documented difference in published Titan height. Early K’NEX information described the models as approximately 12 inches high, while later product information describes the Ogre, for example, as approximately 10.7 inches high. The reason for this difference has not been verified.
Angel City Escape — 69505
Angel City Escape 69505 is the first Titanfall set documented separately in detail in this catalogue.
The examined original packaging specifies:

The set recreates a section of Angel City and contains specialised structural panels, scenery, weapons, stationary weapon assemblies, figures and construction components alongside more familiar K’NEX parts.

Ultimate Angel City Campaign — 69500
69500 Ultimate Angel City Campaign was the flagship set of the range.
It expands the Angel City concept into a much larger environment containing two buildable Titans, six figures including Pilots and Spectres, working weapons, stationary turrets and exclusive decals. The play features allow Pilots to be positioned running along walls and jumping between buildings.
Published piece counts require some explanation.
Early 2014 K’NEX information described the set as containing 1,200+ pieces. Later contemporary coverage based on K’NEX information described it as containing 1,400+ pieces.
A more exact count of 1,448 pieces has also been reported in later inventories, but this exact figure has not yet been verified here against an original box or original parts inventory.
For that reason, the different figures are retained rather than presenting one as unquestionably correct.
Pilots, Spectres & Factions
The range represents both major sides of the Titanfall conflict:

Militia
Both factions are represented by Pilot figures, while Spectres also appear throughout the range.
The figures are more than decoration. They interact with the environments, weapons and Titans, and some sets allow them to be positioned to reproduce the characteristic wall-running and jumping movements of the video game.
Some original packaging provides individual figure identification numbers and weapon/accessory codes. Where these can be verified from original material, they can be included in the individual set inventories.
Specialised Titanfall Parts
Titanfall is particularly interesting for parts collectors because the range does not consist solely of ordinary rods and connectors.
Depending on the set, specialised components can include:
buildable figures · figure weapons · Titan weapons · tripod-mounted weapons · projectiles · architectural panels · floor panels · sandbag scenery · decals and stickers · Titan components · mixed-scale or transition components.
Some construction parts correspond to established K’NEX systems, while others are specialised Titanfall moulds or scenery.
A part found in a Titanfall set should therefore not automatically be classified as Classic or Micro solely because of the set in which it appeared. Individual parts are classified separately according to their physical construction and connections.
Promotion
K’NEX actively promoted the range during its 2014 introduction.
In July 2014 the company ran a ten-day “Prepare for TITANFALL Giveaway” in the United States. Prize packs contained five of the Titanfall building sets: IMC Pilot Strike, Militia Pilot Attack, IMC Atlas Titan, Militia Ogre Titan and Angel City Escape. A larger grand prize additionally included Ultimate Angel City Campaign.
The promotion provides useful contemporary evidence that K’NEX regarded the products as a coherent licensed building range rather than unrelated individual sets.
